Miguel Jimenez

Vineyard Supervisor

A native of Veracruz, Mexico, Miguel began his vineyard career in 1985 at Chateau St. Jean Winery. “I started at the bottom, suckering. I love everything in the vineyard.” Chateau St. Jean’s Director of Vineyard Operations, Pete Opatz, quickly drafted Miguel to be a foreman, then vineyard manager for all of the winery’s vineyards, supervising 60 workers.

In 2004, Miguel went to work as a vineyard supervisor for Silver Oak Cellars. He managed 6 properties before joining Bevill Vineyard Management in 2019. “At BVM I supervise 11 properties in Alexander Valley and Russian River Valley. The varietal and location differences stimulate him. “I like to learn something new everyday,” he says. “I ask questions all the time.” He enjoys the busiest seasons –spring growth and harvest time. “I try to do my best for Bevill Vineyard Management and its customers.”

Miguel and his wife raised four children—including triplets, now 21 years old.
